This month has been a crazy yet an amazing one! I was lucky enough to photograph Alex & Courtney’s wedding at the Braselton Stover Events Center. It was such a beautiful fall day where it wasn’t too hot or cold and the sun was shining brilliantly. Courtney’s veil was swept gloriously in the wind and Alex’s sunglasses came in handy.
Having met while working together at Ernst & Young and did a rotation together in NYC they finally came back to the warmer south. Alex knew that Courtney loves the holidays and proposed in such a sweet way as told by Courtney: “Alex sneakily carved four pumpkins to spell out “Will You Marry Me”. He had the pumpkins set up at my parents house when we drove up there to spend the day watching football and handing out candy to trick or treaters. I walked in and there was a trail of rose petals leading to the pumpkins! Afterwards, we went downstairs and his parents had flown in from SF and my parents, grandpa and his parents had set up a UGA and Southern Cal tailgate engagement party for us!” It was only fitting for them to get married in the fall and carve a new pumpkin together as husband and wife!
Everyone who has ever had a wedding will tell you that there will be 1 thing that will go differently than how you planned it in your head. Sometimes it’s a missing bouquet, wrong groomsmen ties, forgotten rings, you get my point. They aren’t big things but they are moments you look back on and have a giggle about it. Now as a disclaimer, Courtney’s dad totally called it. Cue the brides procession song and Courtney is simply glowing as her and her father walk down the aisle and Alex’s excitement grows more. The moment the the concrete aisle path turns to brick Courtney’s veil pretty much decided that it was time to grab ahold of the brick and depart from Courtney’s head. Good news, a sweet guest jumped up quicker than a grasshopper and placed the veil back on Courtney’s head and she continued her journey towards Alex, veil in hand.
Congrats Alex & Courtney!
