Steven & Meghan’s wedding at Greystone in Piedmont Park was so special and fun for me for multiple reasons. First, I have known Meghan since middle school youth group days. We grew up in the same church and a lot of the same adults that I had grown up knowing were able to attend. This is a rare and strangely wonderful occurence for me that I know most of the guest list by name.
Second reason this wedding was fun was the location. Greystone is a beautiful events hall that has gorgeous high ceilings, lots of room for activities, and it’s right in the middle of Piedmont Park! Unfortunately their wedding fell during the unexpected monsoon season here in Georgia and we weren’t able to have the ceremony outside, not matter it was gorgeous inside and we were all dry!
During Steven & Meghan’s ceremony they choose to a tree planting ceremony. I consider myself somewhat of a wedding efficionado by now and love when I hear about new ideas like this. The concept is such: you have a tree at the ceremony (in a pot), you and your new spouse both add dirt and water the tree, after you return from your honeymoon you plant the tree somewhere that is meaningful to both of you. Steven & Meghan choose to plant their tree in the backyard of their first home as man & wife. Then they will forever have the tree to remind them of the commitment they made on that rainy Saturday… unless you are like me and have a black thumb of death and kill every plant you try to grow.
Congrats to Steven & Meghan on your beautiful wedding and a life of glorification in your marriage….. and here’s to hoping your love tree lives!
