After meeting one another at the Mu Alpha Theta National Convention (National Math Competition) Steven and Lily got to know one another and began dating. Now I am excited to say that they are married! As a huge Disney enthusiast it is only fitting that Steven proposed while they were in Disneyworld (on a hot air balloon, no less) and they made a pitstop at Disneyland for a couple days on their honeymoon!
Steven & Lily’s wedding day was perfect from everyone being on schedule, warm sunny weather, and a sublime venue at Lake Lanier Islands. We began the day with a Tea Ceremony. I loved all the symbolism, respect, love, and laughter that was shared between families. It was my first time documenting a tea ceremony and I certainly hope it isn’t the last. I have found during wedding days most people are concerned about everything going perfectly or saying the right thing at the right time that the whole day becomes heightened and over complicated. I loved how informal and relaxed the tea ceremony was, without losing any importance or respect for the moment.
This was the best way for me to kick off my 2018 weddings and included a few firsts for me: tea ceremony, driving a golf cart with the bride to the first look while the groom rides in the car behind us with his eyes closed, and a conga line (really.)
Cheers to the new Mr. & Mrs!
