Adam & Emily | Franks on the Old Mill Wedding

November 14, 2017

After meeting through a mutual friend at Emory Oxford University (we did their engagement photos on campus) Adam and Emily started their relationship. They dated throughout college and then during Anime Weekend Atlanta (cosplayed as Hans Solo and Princess Leia) Adam had decided he was going to propose to Emily. Even though he was super sick at the time he waited for their friends to arrive (to take photos of course) to take Emily outside in a little park and ask her to marry him. I remember when I met them the first time they showed me the video one of their friends took and joked about how Adam started to kneel (and because he was so sick) fell over a bit but recovered just in time to pop the question.

They had this tradition that I thought was so cool, unique, and something new (at least to me!) Emily’s father is a minister and officiated the wedding therefore walked in with Adam instead of Emily. So when the doors of the church open and it’s Emily’s turn to walk down the aisle what they did instead was Adam walked up the aisle and escorted his new bride to the alter. I love when couples buck traditional norms with intention. Emily’s parents did the same thing in the same church for their wedding…. and I hope other couples continue to do this!

I loved meeting Adam & Emily’s friends. Everyone was so fun to be around and genuinely excited for the day. I also loved that Emily had a detachable train for her dress. I’ve seen it before but I absolutely love things that are practical and why bustle when you can remove! The weather was perfect, the fellowship was splendid, and the day went smoothly.

Congrats Adam & Emily!
