Lee & Kristen | Vineyard Engagement Shoot

It was a classic case of she wanted to date him. He was slightly oblivious and now they are getting married! These two are so sweet with one another. Lee carried Kristen when we trekked through lots of leaves so she wouldn’t sink with her heels on. He gave her the sweetest kisses and they were both game for anything! They were telling me how the other day they had the most incredible sunset full of colors and how sad they were that it wasn’t going to happen on the *perfect lighting* overcast afternoon. All of a sudden as we were talking in the parking lot I saw the sky illuminate with the most lovely pink and blue and of course a hint of purple.

I love when couples choose special locations and elements in their engagement shoots that mean something special to them. It starts with the where: Kristen’s Aunts vineyard and the church that Kristen has grown up in all her life (she has her own key to the building!) We were fortunate that the yellow, orange, and red colors stuck around long enough for us. Fall colors are absolutely my favorite and I always get a little rush every time I get to a session and see the colors. I always think “Yes! Praise be, this is going to be awesome!”

After I get over how cool and special the location is Kristen pulls out this blanket and tells me that it is a quilt of her brothers clothing who passed away 6 years ago. I think of how special that is to include her brother like that even though he couldn’t be here physically and then I get a little chuckle at seeing some of the funny shirts on the quilt.

I loved that Kristen’s parents met us at the church with this sweet red corvette. As they said “it is a work in progress” but so far it’s looking so good! I’m hoping that Lee & Kristen get to use it as their getaway car.
